The best time to do the Gomukh trek is between May and June and September and October. During the day, it will be mostly sunny, but at night, it will be cooler.
The Gomukh Gangotri trek begins in the small village of Uttarkashi, which is about 1150 m above sea level, and continues to Gangotri, which is 3048 m above sea level. The Gomukh Glacier Trek takes you from Gangotri to Bhojwassa (3792 m) via Chirbasa (3600 m). On Day 3, the trek will go to Gomukh (3,890 m/12,760 ft.) and Tapovan, which are both at even higher elevations. Tapovan is the highest point of the trek. It is 4463 m (14640 ft) above sea level, which is an amazing height. If you like heights, you can also choose the Gaumukh Tapovan Nandanvan trek, which takes you to higher altitudes.
Gaumukh Trek is somewhere between moderately hard and hard, so it's not a good choice for first-timers. There are steep climbs and parts of the glacier that are hard to cross. No matter how much you've hiked before, you need to be in good shape and ready for the trek.
The Gomukh trek route is scheduled for 8 days, starting from Dehradun, with overnight camping stays at Gangotri, Bhojwassa, Gomukh, and Tapovan.
Gaumukh Tapovan is not a good trek for people who have never done it before. There are steep climbs and parts of the glacier that are hard to cross. No matter how much you've hiked before, you need to be in good shape and ready for the trek.
The Gaumukh Tapovan Trek does allow camping. When you camp here, you can enjoy the clear night sky and a small fire. At Bhojbasa, you will be staying at a beautiful camp by the river. At Tapovan, you can camp at a high altitude, surrounded by beautiful scenery.
The Gomukh trek is planned to take 8 days, starting in Dehradun and stopping at Gangotri, Bhojwassa, Gomukh, and Tapovan, where people will sleep in tents.
