The best time to go on a Roopkund trek is in April, May, or June, which are summer months. But definitely not when it rains a lot. During that time, there are flash floods and land slides. Around July is when monsoons start.
To get to the Roopkund trek, you must first go to Kathgodam, which is the closest major transportation hub. Kathgodam is connected by road and rail to most of India's big cities, like Delhi, which has the airport that is closest to Kathgodam. When you get to Lohajung, you can start walking to Roopkund.
Most of the time, you can't do the Roopkund trek in January because it's too cold and snowy at high altitudes. Most people go trekking in Roopkund between May and October, when the weather is clear and dry and the trails are in good shape.
Roopkund is a popular place for trekking in the Himalayas, and both men and women are thought to be safe there.but it is always important to be prepared and to follow necessary precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Along the Roopkund trek, you may or may not be able to use your cell phone or get electricity. This is because the trek goes through remote and mountainous areas. Even though you might be able to get a cell phone signal and use electricity in some places, it is usually limited and not reliable.
The Roopkund trek begins in the village of Lohajung, which is in the Chamoli district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Lohajung is about 200 kilometres from Kathgodam, which is the closest major transportation hub.
