“Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature – Gerard De Nerval”

Indeed it’s true” because where the flowers lie, nature smiles and just like this something happened in 1931 when a group of mountaineers accidentally discovered the Valley of Flowers who were returning from an excursion to Mount Kamet. Frank Smythe, Eric Shipton, and RL Holdsworth were some of the names of the group members from that group. In 1980, the Valley of Flowers has been declared a National Park and in 2000, the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve added it as a second core zone and not to left it now comes under the UNESCO man and biosphere program (MAB). Valley of Flowers has all the mesmerizing, alluring, and adoring beauty, this valley contains approximately 500 varieties of flowers, out of which many are for medicinal purposes whereas several are considered to be threatened, because of which any type of Cattle Grazing is not allowed in the valley of flowers. The valley of flowers which has a beautiful floral carpet and intoxicating mixes of fragrances of flowers is also believed to be the place from where the Hanuman Ji brought the Sanjeevani Booti to revive Lakshman Ji in the Hindu Mythological Ramayana. Isn’t it enough to persuade you to try this Valley of flowers trek? We assure you, during this trek, you will feel adventurous, mesmerizing, and as well as religious.

People say that the best time to enjoy the Valley of Flowers is between the middle of June and the end of September. Just after the monsoon rains, this is when the flowers start to bloom, making this place even more like its name.

The way to the Valley of Flowers starts in Haridwar. From there, you can drive to Govindghat in 10 hours. Pass through Devprayag and stop at Joshimath. I will say that the answer is “it depends”. We saw many seniors trekking even better than us. It does take a toll on the legs, so depending on fitness it can be taken. Otherwise, mules and porters are around to make the job easier.

Fantastic

One of the most stunning scenic views I've ever seen. Everything from rocky to snow-covered to green meadows, waterfalls, and beautiful bouquets of flowers can be found in a single location. The facility was well-kept. Things to remember: - Bring a bin bag for your waste; dust bins are not available, Drones and speakers are prohibited.

Variety of Flowers

It's nothing less than heaven.   Nature's beauty is limitless. Numerous waterfalls and flowers. There are over 600 different types of flowers and plants. The memorial of Joan Margret is also there. Everyone says it's a 4km trek, but if you want to go all the way to the end of the valley, add another 4km. It's not a difficult trek; only after crossing the river is there an inclined trek of 30-40 minutes; otherwise, it's all plain.

Just amazing

What can I say? It's a heavenly place. Being there is a once-in-a-lifetime achievement. It's a fantasy come true. Beautiful views all around, a nice and well-kept and organised natural location. It is our responsibility to protect it at any costs. According to my opinion, only a limited number of daily visitor should be permitted.
